Ohio State is not where they want to be at the end of September at 2-1, and with a defense that looks it needs a lot of cleaning up to do if it wants another shot at the national title.

The Buckeyes also have a young and inexperienced QB in C.J. Stroud, who is also dealing with some shoulder soreness.

Buckeyes’ faithful is curious to see how 5-star freshman  QB Quinn Ewers is performing in practice.

Ryan Day put a squash to that pretty quickly on Tuesday.

“I can’t sit here and tell you he gets enough reps to prepare to play in a game right now,” said Day, according to Dan Hope of elevenwarriors.com. “Said it’s “nearly impossible” to get him that amount of reps now that the Buckeyes are into the season after he missed most of the preseason.”

“I think he would tell you it’s been hard for him …, said Day, according to Griffin Strom of elevenwarriors.com. “There’s a lot of catching up to do there.”

Ewers was the No.1 QB in the nation, No.1 player, and No.1 in the state of Texas even after reclassifying to the class of 2021 according to 247sports Composite Rankings.

Ohio State hosts Akron in their last non-conference game at 7:30 ET on BTN.
