Ryan Hilinski was pretty much perfect in the first half of Northwestern’s battle against Nebraska.

The Wildcats lead Nebraska 17-14 at the half thanks to Hilinski’s heroics. The former South Carolina signal caller completed 20 of his 23 passes on the day for 2 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

The Wildcats trailed early, 14-3, before Hilinski connected with Raymond Niro III for a 41-yard score.

Touchdown No. 2 was another beauty. With the pressure on, Hilinski found Donny Navarro in the back of the end zone for the go-ahead score.

Hilinski is the first Northwestern quarterback to go 7-for-7 or better in the first quarter since Mike Kafka did it in 2009. There’s a lot of game to be played, but if Hilinski keeps torching Nebraska’s defense like this the Wildcats will leave Dublin with a Week 0 victory.
