Rutgers is off and running against Temple, and the Scarlet Knights defense provided the first points of the season!
The offense was stifled early to start the game, but Rutgers called on its special teams to help flip the field and pin the Owls deep. Punter Adam Korsak did just that, perfectly dropping a punt that rolled down inside the 5-yard line of Temple.
It had Temple with its back to its own end zone to start the drive:
We’ll say it again: These B1G punters are always doing it #ForTheBrand. 👀 @AdamKorsak // @RFootball pic.twitter.com/fgMDZ7XS3o

Temple was unable to generate a push in that series, setting up a 3rd-and-9. That is when the Scarlet Knights generated a big push deep into the backfield.
It led to a safety and 2 points to start the scoring:
Who had a safety for the first points of 2021?
This @RFootball D will spend a lot of time in the opponent’s backfield. 😤 pic.twitter.com/yJGTbwz4v2
