The salary details have been released for two of Ohio State’s newest defensive staff members.
According to Eleven Warriors, new secondary and cornerbacks coach Tim Walton will receive a base salary of $700,000. Safeties coach Perry Eliano will be paid $450,000.
Walton, a former Buckeye, returns to Columbus after spending time with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. He does have plenty of experience working at the college level but has been in the professional ranks since 2009.
Eliano made a short drive to Columbus after spending last season at Cincinnati.
Walton and Eliano account for two of the four major changes head coach Ryan Day made to his staff during the offseason. Ohio State also hired Jim Knowles to be the next defensive coordinator and Justin Frye will be the team’s offensive line coach.
The Buckeyes ended the 2021 season with an 11-2 record, which included a thrilling 48-45 win over Utah in the Rose Bowl Game.
