Sam Hubbard records clutch sack to help force OT in AFC Championship

Sunday’s AFC Championship Game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs is turning out to be one for the ages, and a former Ohio State star helped force overtime.
With the Chiefs facing a 3rd-and-goal late in regulation, it looked like Pat Mahomes might score and send Kansas City to another Super Bowl. That is when Sam Hubbard came up big.
After initially dropping into coverage as a spy on the quarterback, Hubbard exploded on a blitz and broke through the line. He sacked Mahomes and even forced a fumble but the Chiefs were quick to fall on it.

Instead of scoring a go-ahead touchdown, Kansas City was forced to try a longer field goal. Harrison Butker was clean on his try as time expired, but Hubbard’s sack kept the Bengals alive and heading to an overtime period.
