Nick Bosa is having an incredible season for the San Francisco 49ers. His HC Kyle Shanahan thinks so too, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Bosa’s accolades this season include 17.5 sacks, 48 total tackles, and 18 tackles for loss. Bosa’s 17.5 sacks lead the NFL and show just how dominant he’s been. The next closest is the New England Patriots’ Matt Judon with 15.5 sacks.

Shanahan joked that the 49ers could bench Bosa and the former Ohio State player could still end up winning NFL Defensive MVP.

“I feel like we could sit him these next two weeks and my mind would be blown if he wasn’t the defensive MVP,” said Shanahan. “He’s been great.”

The 49ers are 11-4 on the year and have already locked down a playoff spot. Next up on their radar is potentially securing the No. 1 seed in the NFC. San Francisco would need to win out and have the Philadelphia Eagles lose their last two regular season games to do so.
