Saquon Barkley, family unharmed following attempted home burglary

Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley and his family are unharmed following an attempted burglary at the NFL star’s home early Saturday morning.
According to Tredyffrin Township Police Department Capt. Tyler Moyer, Barkley and his family were at the home at 5 a.m. Saturday when at least one suspect entered the house. Police were dispatched and the alleged suspects fled before they arrived.
“They were home, and fortunately, as you know, with any situation like this, our main concern is that the residents of that home at the time were unharmed, which they were,” Moyer said, via ESPN. “They were fine afterwards, obviously unsettled as anyone would be.”
Police are searching for 2 suspects and have released a photo of a white SUV, which they believe is connected to the crime.
Barkley is not the first NFL athlete to be targeted in attempted burglaries across recent years. Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have been victims of similar incidents. Moyer told a local Philadelphia station that his department will be looking further into the incident to determine whether it could be part of a larger string of athlete burglaries.
“We will look at all angles of this because we know, obviously, it’s been all over the news in the past few years about different professional athletes’ homes getting burglarized,” Moyer said.
