Saquon Barkley is in the midst of his first NFL season as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. The star running back spent the first 6 seasons of his career on the division-rival New York Giants and has become one of the league’s best rushers.
In Week 7 of the NFL season, Barkley had the chance to face off against his former team for the first time. The RB delivered his biggest game of the season, rushing 17 times for 176 yards and 1 touchdown. Barkley added 2 catches for 11 yards and the Eagles dominated the Giants 28-3.
As a result of Barkley’s huge performance, the veteran was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the 2nd time this season.

Against the Giants, Barkley was just 13 yards shy of tying his single-game yards record. Head coach Nick Siriani was caught on camera asking Barkley if he wanted to stay in the game and break his record. The star chose to stay on the sideline, telling his coach he’d “rather see the young guys eat.”

It was a classy move from the veteran to let his backups get some playtime. Barkley still ended the day with his 2nd-highest single-game rushing total.
Before starring in the NFC East, Barkley was one of college football’s best RBs at Penn State. Barkley spent 3 seasons with the Nittany Lions and was twice the Big Ten Most Valuable Player.
Through 6 games in 2024, Barkley is 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards, behind only Derrick Henry and Jordan Mason.
