Saquon Barkley says ‘it sucks’ Penn State won’t be on the field this fall

This was supposed to be a great year in Happy Valley. Coming off an 11-2 season in 2019 and returning a load of talent on both sides of the football, many thought Penn State would be able to challenge Ohio State in the B1G East.
Unfortunately, we won’t know if Penn State could’ve bumped the Buckeyes off the B1G throne this year.
Last week, the B1G postponed its 2020 college football season, saying it plans to try to play in the spring. It was a decision that disappointed a lot of players, coaches, parents and fans. Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is upset that he doesn’t get to see the Nittany Lions on the field this fall.
“That was a tough one,” Barkley said of the B1G’s decision, according to the New York Post. “It sucks not to be able to see those guys out there.”
So far, the B1G is one of two Power 5 conferences to cancel the fall season. The Pac-12 made the decision just a few hours after the B1G. The MAC and Mountain West were the first two FBS leagues to postpone the season.
There are currently six conferences planning to move forward — AAC, ACC, Big 12, C-USA, SEC and Sun Belt.
Unfortunately for Barkley, he won’t know what his alma mater could’ve done on the field this season. Hopefully, the B1G will work out a spring plan and at least get the opportunity to compete sometime within the next year.
