There was a scary moment in the first half of Saturday’s game between the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium as Bearcats redshirt sophomore safety Kyriq McDonald was carted off the field following a “convulsion.”

Jacob Myers of the Columbus Dispatch provided some updates as the events were unfolding:

With the game being broadcast on ABC, sideline reporter Allison Williams was able to catch up with McDonald’s mother, per Myers.

A native of Madison, Alabama, McDonald was a three-star prospect in the 2017 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He originally committed to Alabama and spent two years with the Crimson Tide program. Joining Cincinnati over the summer, he received a waiver from the NCAA for immediate eligibility in 2019.
