Brandon Peters has had a solid game in his return to action on Saturday, the Illinois quarterback even showing off a bit.
The Illinois quarterback missed the previous three games including last week’s win at Rutgers due to COVID-19 protocols. But he returned with no signs of rust and was downright dominant in certain portions of the game.
And he certainly wasn’t lacking confidence or, perhaps more fitting, he wasn’t lacking swagger.
A one-yard touchdown dive with 2:31 left in the third quarter capped off a 10-play, 75-yard drive that put the visiting Illini up 38-17. After the touchdown as he was congratulated by teammates, Peters pointed up to the scoreboard, a subtle mocking of Nebraska who were horrible defensively all afternoon.

It was a very different look and feel from Peters then a month ago in the season opener, a 45-7 loss at Wisconsin. In that game, Peters was 8-of-19 for 87 yards.
