Scott Frost endured a few growing pains when he took the job at Nebraska before the 2018 season. There was a lack of discipline and effort was sometimes brought into question.
That’s not Frost’s experience through his second spring season back in Lincoln, at least so far. The Huskers head coach has been impressed with the effort his team has given so far through spring practice.
According to Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald, Frost is pleased with how his team has approached the spring season. He was “thrilled” with the energy the Huskers brought back to the field after returning from spring break, too.

Early in the 2018 season, Frost often talked about developing a winning culture. While he praised his squad for overcoming some obstacles at the end of the year, it was easy to see the frustration from the head coach, the players and even the fans through the first few weeks of the campaign.
Attitude and effort don’t seem to be an issue this time around, meaning Nebraska can focus on other things to prepare for the 2019 season. Perfecting the fundamentals and focusing on scheme this spring is a step ahead from where the program was a year ago. That’s why so many believe the Huskers are a potential threat in the B1G West and a top 25 team.
Time will tell if Nebraska will make that much of a leap from Year 1 to Year 2 under Frost. But from an effort standpoint, the Huskers seem to be all in. That, in itself, is a huge barrier the program has already overcome.
