This is certainly one way to look at things.

It is no secret that it has been a rough year for Nebraska. After starting the season 0-6, the Cornhuskers picked up their first win of the season against Minnesota. Now that the losing streak is over, the team will look to string together another win against Bethune-Cookman.

While the start has been understandably rough, Nebraska does have three losses by five points or less this season. Another loss, a 42-28 defeat to Purdue, was not as close, but that game is still giving Frost a bit of optimism.

When discussing Purdue’s upset of Ohio State, Frost said that the performance of the Boilermakers gives him “hope and encouragement” moving forward. His reasoning? The Cornhuskers were not too far off in the loss to Purdue.

Reporter Sam McKewon shared his comments:

Nebraska does appear to be improving as the season goes along. Still, Purdue’s shocking upset does not guarantee anything at all, much less that the Cornhuskers will be able to keep it close against the Buckeyes. That will have to be earned on the field.
