The 2019 Big Ten Media Days are being held on Thursday and Friday in Chicago with BTN televising the action.
Seven teams were featured on Thursday and Nebraska was one of them. Year one of the Scott Frost era as head coach of the Huskers didn’t prove to be insanely successful, as the team finished with a 4-8 record.
However, it’s been Year two that has been the magical one for Frost. Just ask the undefeated UCF team he led in his second season there.
So, going into his second season at Nebraska, the sky is the limit. At least that’s what history and the majority of the media suggests. When it comes to dark-horse teams that can do a lot of damage this season, the first team coming to most people’s mind is Nebraska.
Frost was asked about all of these expectations and hype going into 2019 and in particular, he was asked about being the favorites to win the Big Ten West division:
“We’re better,” he said. “We’re better than we were a year ago. The rest of it, we’re going to have to earn.”
As far as how the entire season will pan out, it’s all a guess according to Frost:
Frost makes no record predictions. “I know we’re better.” Shrugs a little. Adds “picks are picks, guesses are guesses.”
