Scott Frost: ‘Receiver is another place I feel like we’re night and day better than last year’

Fall camps have been going on for roughly a week now in the world of college football.
Each day, coaches gather information. Which players are looking good, who needs to step up, what position battles are looking like, who potential redshirts may be — coaches are looking at everything.
Scott Frost, the coach at Nebraska, has been doing the same. On Friday after the team’s first week of camp, he talked with the media. At one point, he was asked about the wide receiver group as a whole:
“Receiver is another place I feel like we’re night and day better than last year,” he said. “JD (Spielman) is being JD, Andre Hunt is playing a lot better this year, Mike Williams is playing better, Woody (Jaron Woodyard) is playing better, Wan’Dale (Robinson) is starting to do some things that we expected him to be able to do when we got him. A couple of the walk-ons are showing up (…)”
Frost went on to talk about how the team has “a lot more guys” that the team can trust this year as opposed to last year. One pass-catcher the team will surely miss is Stanley Morgan, who set numerous Husker records over the course of his career.
However, next men have to step up and Frost believes he has a lot of guys that can do just that in 2019.
Nebraska’s season is set to begin Aug. 31 against South Alabama.
