The man who brought Scott Frost to Nebraska is leaving soon.

Friday morning, reports began to surface that Huskers AD Bill Moos was going to be out as athletic director. That was quickly confirmed with Moos announcing his retirement effective June 30 of this season.

Since coming to Nebraska in 2017, Moos made two particularly big hirings: Frost to lead Huskers football and Fred Hoiberg to lead Nebraska basketball. Shortly after Moos’ announcement, Frost released a statement on his decision.

“We will miss Bill and Kendra but wish them all the best in the future. I am grateful to Bill for all the work he has done and laying the groundwork for our future in Athletics,” wrote Frost. “I have tremendous confidence in Chancellor Ronnie Green, his leadership, & ability to select our next Athletic Director. I know the leader he chooses will be able to help not only our football program, but all of athletic programs at this great University, be successful.”

With or without Moos, Frost will still have increased expectations heading into Year 4. So far, Nebraska is 12-20 in three seasons under Frost.
