Scott Frost says Nebraska is better this year but admits ‘margin of error is pretty small’

Scott Frost is going through another tough week as Nebraska’s head coach.
Nothing probably compares to losing the first six games to begin last season, but the Cornhuskers aren’t off to the best start this year either. It took three non-offensive touchdowns to get past South Alabama, 35-21, in Week 1 and then this past Saturday, Nebraska lost to rival Colorado for the second straight year.
Making matters worse, Nebraska led Colorado, 17-0, at halftime, but the Buffaloes pulled out the victory in overtime, 34-31.
On Monday in his weekly press conference, Frost remained adamant that this year’s Nebraska team is better than last season’s, but he admitted mistakes that can’t happen are holding them back.
“Our margin of error is pretty small right now,” Frost said. “There needs to be a sense of urgency to get it done. The third quarter, our offense needs to go out with purpose a little more.”
Frost said there's no question his team is better than last year. But he also said Nebraska's not good enough to overcome major mistakes and expect to win consistently.
Bottom line, Nebraska's talent is such right now that its margin for error is small.

Nebraska responded a couple times in the fourth quarter when Colorado shrunk the lead to one possession or tied the game, but the Cornhuskers offense didn’t do much of anything in the third quarter. Extending the 17-point lead before Colorado scored its first touchdown with 1:42 left in the third could have kept the game out of reach.
