Scott Frost ‘tired of silver linings’ after another disappointing loss

Allowing 24 unanswered points in the middle two quarters on Saturday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers fell at home to the No. 16 Wisconsin Badgers, 37-21.
Receiving a two-year contract extension through the 2026 season a few hours before kickoff, head coach Scott Frost still has a lot of work to do in molding this roster in his image.

The program’s fourth consecutive loss, the coach’s frustration is beginning to become apparent:

Dropping to 4-6 with the loss, Frost is now just 8-14 in his two seasons in Lincoln.
Responsible for two of the Cornhuskers’ three touchdowns, Frost was at least satisfied with the play of his sophomore quarterback, Adrian Martinez.
Chris Heady, also of The Omaha World-Herald, provided this quote from the coach:
Frost: “Adrian played like the Adrian we know today.”
Says Martinez is going through a lot, “similar to what I was going through when we were 11-2 and I was hated.”

While Nebraska won the total yardage battle, 493-482, Wisconsin outrushed the Cornhuskers, 320-273. As expected, junior tailback Jonathan Taylor led the attack for the Badgers with 204 yards and two touchdowns on 25 attempts (8.1 AVG).
One of the B1G’s best receivers, junior Quintez Cephus tied a team-high with three receptions for 23 yards. Hauling in two of junior Jack Coan’s 13 completions, senior A.J. Taylor posted 65 receiving yards, Wisconsin’s most on the day.
Looking to keep their hopes of going to a bowl game alive, Nebraska will travel to College Park to battle the Maryland Terrapins (3-6) on Saturday at 3:30PM ET on BTN.
Wisconsin (8-2) will host the Purdue Boilermakers (4-6) at a still to be determined time.
