Scott Frost updates status of injured Nebraska safety Myles Farmer

One of the scarier scenes to come out of this weekend’s game was seeing Nebraska safety Myles Farmer get carted off the field after an injury suffered prior to the game against Purdue.
It’s been two days now since the injury, and we’re starting to get a clearer picture of what happened. We learned on Monday the severity of Farmer’s injury.
Frost said Myles Farmer had season ending surgery, but the long-term outlook is good.

It appears that Farmer injured his right leg, particularly his ankle. He was seen wearing an aircast when being carted off in West Lafayette.
Farmer’s absence didn’t result in a Nebraska loss to the Boilermakers. However, he is a significant loss as he has a team-best two interceptions in his first year of being a starter for the Huskers.
The good news for Farmer is he still has a significant amount of eligibility left. This was his redshirt freshman season, meaning he has three more years of eligibility left. That means he can recover and get back on the field with a lot of time left in his college career.
