Scramble, 71-yard pass in SEC Championship Game might’ve been the play of Joe Burrow’s career

Joe Burrow started off in Columbus, Ohio with the Buckeyes. Burrow played a bit with the scarlet and gray, but never had highlight reels made of him in those colors.

There will — and already have been — highlight reels made of him in LSU Tiger colors. This season, Burrow has been absurdly effective. So effective that he is the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.

On Saturday, against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, Burrow likely solidified his incoming award.

We thought that Burrow catching his own pass and running for a first down was his Heisman moment. Well, so much for that.

In the third quarter, Burrow scrambled away from pressure and tossed a bomb down the field that left everybody who saw it talking. Here’s the play:
