Sean Clifford was Penn State’s hero in the final minutes of the Purdue game on Thursday. He led the Nittany Lions down the field and threw the game-winning touchdown to Keyvone Lee after dealing with injuries during the game.
Clifford finished the game with 282 yards passing, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception when it was all said and done. His resiliency during his time at Penn State is starting to pay off, as fans saw last night.
This is nothing new for James Franklin’s QB1 per Audrey Snyder of The Athletic:
“I feel like, personally, I’ve overcame a lot here at Penn State, so that was nothing new,” Clifford. “It was just another play, another game.”
Clifford stated that the Purdue game is 1 that he is going to remember for quite some time. At the end of the day, he is just happy that his team was able to escape the crazy Week 1 madness with a win.
“The guys trust me,” said Clifford. “The coaches trust me. It was just one of those were it was a nasty win. It’s one that I’ll remember forever, honestly. It was an up and down game, we made a lot of mistakes. It was crazy.”
