Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford is off to a hot start vs. Michigan State.

With the Nittany Lions trailing 7-3 in the second quarter, Clifford broke through for a 31-yard touchdown run on a QB keeper.

Here’s the play:

That’s a big deal for the Nittany Lions, who are trying to win their third straight game after an 0-5 start.

Clifford has also been good through the air, completing seven of his first 10 passes for 86 yards. Backup quarterback Will Levis has been in the game in running situations, carrying the ball four times for eight yards.

Michigan State is also looking for its third win of the season. The Spartans have struggled at times this season, but have nice wins over Michigan and Northwestern.

Backup quarterback Payton Thorne has been excellent, throwing three touchdown passes in the first half.

This series has historically been extremely even. Michigan State currently holds a 17-16-1 all-time series lead. Penn State won last season, but the Spartans have won two of the last three.
