Penn State QB Sean Clifford got the Lions off to a roaring start on Saturday.
Clifford was inconsistent during his Week 1 performance, throwing a pick-six in the fourth quarter, only to have to mount an exceptional come back in the last minutes to barely sneak past Purdue, 35-31.
The sixth-year Lion QB suffered no such issues in his Week 2 debut, coming out strong. In the opening drive, Clifford went 6-for-6 to 6 different receivers, with a 4th-down conversion and 62 yards.
The Lion QB finished off the drive with a 15-yard scramble and propelled himself into the end zone on a short QB sneak to help put the Lions up 7-0.
The rushing touchdown also garnered Clifford a new spot in the record books. With that touchdown, Clifford claimed the fifth all-time spot at Penn State for rushing touchdowns.
With his 1-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter, QB Sean Clifford moved alone into fifth all-time at Penn State for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 12, passing Zack Mills (2001-04).
