Sean Clifford wrapped up his Penn State career during the 2022 season. In the process, he set career-high marks in nearly every major category and finished with 29 touchdowns.
Now, Clifford is preparing for life after Penn State, and he’s generating some interest for the 2023 NFL Draft. According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Green Bay Packers are going to meet with Clifford on Tuesday for one of the franchise’s Top 30 visits leading up to the draft.
The Packers are continuing their predraft quarterback work.

Each NFL team is allowed to meet with up to 30 prospects as a part of the pre-draft process.
What does it mean moving forward?
Of course, a visit alone does not indicate a team will be targeting Clifford, but it certainly looks like there is at least some level of interest in the Nittany Lion product. It’s also notable that the Packers are likely to have an open quarterback slot if trading Aaron Rodgers does eventually take place as expected.
At the end of the day, Clifford’s not going to be an early-round pick, but there’s no ruling out a team targeting the QB later in the draft. With his veteran experience and numbers at Penn State, we’ll see if Clifford is able to make an impression with the Packers or any other team heading into the draft.
