SEC bias? Dana Holgorsen peeved over postgame press conference delay following Houston’s win over Auburn

SEC bias has been a perceived problem in the College Football Playoff rankings and selection process for some time. Now, it looks like that bias is even influencing the order of some postgame press conferences.

On Tuesday, Houston knocked off Auburn after shutting down the Tiger offense and punching in a late touchdown. It gave the Cougars a 17-13 win in the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl and a 12-2 record to finish the season.

Despite the win, Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen was not the first coach up for the postgame press conference. Instead, he waited behind Auburn’s coaches, and he was not happy about it.

“Yeah, need to have separate press conferences,” said Holgorsen when asked for his opening statement. “We won the game and I’m just standing out there for 20 minutes, I don’t quite understand that. I’d get that together.”

SEC bias, at play once again. At least Holgorsen and the Cougars can relish in a 12-win season and likely Top-25 finish when the final polls come out.
