SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey trolls CFB, 4-team Playoff during UGA victory parade

Life is good for the SEC these days, and Commissioner Greg Sankey knows it.
As the process to expand the College Football Playoff continues to grind along without much progress, the SEC continues to dominate the 4-team model. That includes the Committee landing Georgia and Alabama in this year’s Playoff which ultimately produced another all-SEC championship game. The Bulldogs came out on top this time around.
On Saturday, Kirby Smart’s Georgia squad had a parade through Athens to celebrate the program’s first national title since 1980. During the concluding ceremony, Sankey fired a shot at the world of college football while touting the work of the SEC.
“As the commissioner of the Southeastern Conference, I think the four-team Playoff worked out fine this year, didn’t you?” Sankey asked the crowd in Sanford Stadium, per Seth Emerson with The Athletic.

That comment is bound to sit well with fans outside the conference and around the country. Unfortunately for those outside the SEC, it seems unlikely that the Playoff will expand any time soon, especially if the ACC continues to roadblock any progress toward expansion.
