There’s never a dull moment in college football and that especially was true on Tuesday when the B1G, ACC, and Pac-12 announced their alliance.

The alliance will include scheduling arrangements in football and basketball, plus a swath of other things such as future structure of the NCAA, social justice, gender equity, strong academic experience and support, etc.

After that was announced, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey released his own statement about the alliance to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy.

In part of the statement, Sankey seemed excited to continue to collaborate with all 3 conferences.

“We have respect for each of our conference colleagues and look forward to future collaborations. I believe we remain unified by our shared beliefs around the positive impact college sports has on the lives of student-athletes and throughout or communities.”

Before this alliance formed, the SEC sent a wave through college football earlier in the offseason as they announced that Texas and Oklahoma would be joining the conference starting in 2025.

There’s likely still many more chapters left in this unfinished book when it comes to the state of college football.
