The Music City Bowl had some controversy towards the end of the game.

Many Tennessee fans thought thought running back Jaylen Wright was robbed of a touchdown in overtime that would have given Tennessee the lead, including SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum.

Finebaum stated he believes that the Volunteers should have won the game, and blamed the referees for the loss on ‘The Paul Finebaum Show’ declaring them the 8-5 Tennessee Volunteers.

Finebaum later went on to flip the Purdue game into a win on a graphic of the Volunteers’ schedule.

He also had a recommendation for what Josh Heupel and the Volunteers should do next after the Music City Bowl loss:

“My recommendation to Josh Huepel is this,” said Finebaum. “I don’t care what NCAA rulebook says. That should be counted as win. Tennessee should officially be 8-5. That is how this show will recognize it.
