The Auburn Tigers have self-imposed a postseason basketball ban for this season.
It was in wake of an Adidas scandal that came up in 2017 and ended up involving former assistant coach Chuck Person.
Here’s the official statement of the ban from Auburn:

As Pearl says, his players won’t be able to play in the NCAA Tournament for two years in a row as this past year the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They obviously also will not be able to play in this year’s one either due to this ban.
Despite not being able to play in the tournament, this will still be one of the better teams to watch in the SEC this season. Auburn opens up their season this Thursday against Saint Joseph’s at 4:30 p.m. ET before playing No. 1 Gonzaga on Friday at 11 a.m. ET.
The game against Saint Joseph’s will be televised by FS1 while the Gonzaga game will be on FOX.
