The price to pay for upsetting the No. 1 team in the country.

Texas A&M pulled off the biggest upset of the year last week, beating Alabama 41-38 on Saturday. Understandably, fans stormed the field to celebrate.

But as we’ve learned, schools have to pay for that sort of thing. Monday morning, the SEC announced Texas A&M is being fined $100,000 for storming the field.

This isn’t the first time the SEC has fined schools for storming the field. Kentucky got hit for $250,000 because fans ran onto the field after the Wildcats beat Florida, and Arkansas got dinged for $100,000 after a 40-21 win over Texas. But it’s one of the great parts of college football: fans running onto the field after huge wins.

It’s a small price to pay for the memories.
