LSU has just endured its second loss of the 2020 season, this time to a previously-winless Missouri squad.

Saturday afternoon’s game between No. 17 LSU and Missouri was originally scheduled for Baton Rouge but had to be moved to Columbia due to Hurricane Delta. That home-field advantage for Mizzou proved to be beneficial, as Eli Drinkwitz picked up his first win as the head coach of the program. And it came against the reigning national champions.

Missouri quarterback Connor Bazelak lit up the LSU defense, throwing for 406 yards and 4 touchdowns while completing 29-of-34 pass attempts, leading Mizzou to a 45-41 victory over LSU. Running back Larry Roundtree III carried the ball for 119 yards on 18 carries.

LSU gave up 586 yards to Missouri, but was able to force 3 turnovers. As good as the Tigers were offensively, they failed to convert a single 3rd down in the contest, finishing the day 0-of-10.

Missouri improved to 1-2 on the season and LSU dropped to 1-2. That No. 17 ranking will likely be dropped from LSU’s name on Sunday.
