The 2021 season hasn’t even kicked off yet, so college football players across the country are hardly concerned about their draft status right now. But Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy is always talking about that next big step.
Monday morning, Nagy tweeted about Penn State star receiver Jahan Dotson, one of the best players at his position in the B1G. There’s no question Dotson has an incredible skill-set and the ability to make it at the NFL level.
However, there are some concerns about Dotson’s 5-foot-11, 182-pound frame. In a league that values size, the Penn State receiver measures in under 6-feet tall.
Nagy says that should not be an issue.
“Many will over-think his measurables (5106v, 175 lbs) next spring but (Senior Bowl) has zero concerns about Penn State WR Jahan Dotson’s size,” Nagy wrote. “Similar to Eagles’ first-round and Senior Bowl alum Devonta Smith, (Dotson) plays plenty big for us.”

Dotson was the third-leading receiver in the B1G for the 2020 season. In 9 games, he totaled 52 receptions for 884 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was an All-B1G third-team selection after his stellar season.
Dotson’s name has been mentioned in the same conversation with other star B1G receivers Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave (both Ohio State), David Bell (Purdue) and Ty Fryfogle (Indiana) as one of the best in the conference.
