Shades of Manziel: Auburn QB Bo Nix embarrassed Texas A&M’s entire defense on this TD run

(Nix that is).
It says something that Bo Nix’s touchdown run on Saturday against No. 5 Texas A&M might be the greatest touchdown run in Auburn history, arguably the best run by any Auburn player named ‘Bo.’ But such is the case for Nix, Auburn’s starting quarterback and comes with no disrespect to the great Bo Jackson.
It may go down officially as a five-yard touchdown run but Nix probably ran 30 yards on the play, somehow evading two would-be tacklers in the pocket after faking a handoff. Nix, evading their grasp, then ran to his left, out-angling several Aggies defenders and managing to dive, full-extension and barely getting the ball past the goal line.

Tremendous stuff from Nix, giving Auburn a 10-7 lead with 3:37 left in the second quarter. The gutsy run capped off a nine-play, 80-yard drive by Auburn.
The Tigers went into halftime down to the visiting Aggies 14-10. Nix was 7-of-11 for 81 yards in the first half.
Now while Nix’s run was tremendous, Jackson is nonetheless the most accomplished player in Auburn history. The star running back won the Heisman in 1985 and was three times an All-SEC first team selection during a four-year career in college where he had 4,303 rushing yards and 43 rushing touchdowns.
He was the first pick of the 1986 NFL Draft by the née Oakland Raiders.
Auburn is 5-3 on the year after losing to No. 1 Alabama last week.
