Shedeur Sanders is a high-profile recruit for more than one reason, and he announced his college commitment Monday evening.

Sanders has made a name for himself with his play on the field. He is a four-star QB recruit out of Cedar Hill, Texas. Sanders is also rated the No. 14 pro-style QB in the nation for 2021 by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Along with his strong play, Sanders is the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, adding to his status as a high-profile recruit.

Unsurprisingly, Sanders received a number of Power 5 offers, including from top programs such as Alabama, Michigan, Florida, Oregon, LSU, and others. However, he announced with a video Monday that he is committed to FAU where he will join head coach Willie Taggart.

Here is Sanders’ commitment video:

FAU is certainly a somewhat surprising choice given the other offers on the table. It will definitely be interesting to watch Sanders’ development while playing with the Owls.
