Sherrone Moore has completed his tenure as Michigan’s acting head coach, finishing that stretch with another win against Ohio State in The Game. This season, Moore has served as the interim head coach for 4 games (all wins) while balancing his duties as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
On Monday, Moore was also included as a finalist for one of the top awards in the country. The Broyles Award named Moore as one of five finalists to go with Georgia’s Mike Bobo (OC/QBs coach), Iowa’s Phil Parker (DC/safeties coach), LSU’s Mike Denbrock (OC/TEs coach) and Oregon’s Will Stein (OC).

Moore certainly has a strong body of work to go to the award, and FOX analyst Joel Klatt believes Michigan’s key assistant is deserving of the award. Klatt said the award for the nation’s top assistant “is a wrap” due to Moore’s work as OC and ability while stepping in as the acting head coach.
The @BroylesAward (top assistant in country) is a wrap…Sherrone Moore should win going away! He has been terrific as an OC and he was incredible as acting HC…He has a huge future ahead & he is also a really great man. @UMichFootball

Moore is not the first assistant of Jim Harbaugh to be up for the award. Josh Gattis captured the award in 2021 while serving as the OC and WRs coach for the Wolverines.
