Charlie Jones made an impact for Purdue right out of gate. In his 1st game as a Boilermaker, he nearly got half of the yards he had last season.
Whether it was to take a shot at Iowa, or just to show how big of a game Jones had, Purdue posted a graphic via Twitter. Jones had 153 yards receiving with 1 touchdown against Penn State in the opener. Last season, Jones had 323 yards receiving with 3 touchdowns.
Safe to say Charlie Jones fits in well here at Purdue. What a debut!#BoilerUp pic.twitter.com/z0rsrMiNAK

It’s starting to look like Jones will be passing his 2021 numbers. Sometimes a change of scenery does people a lot of good. Jones transferred to Purdue from Iowa in May, and has been a great addition to the receiving core in West Lafayette.
A game to watch could be when Purdue and Iowa meet up this season. The Boilermakers and Hawkeyes play each other on Nov. 5 in West Lafayette.
We’ll see if there are any hard feelings between the 2 schools when Jones is reunited with some of his old teammates.
