Every head coach in college football preaches discipline. Eliminating penalties and minimizing silly mistakes are keys to winning a lot of games. Not many played quite as clean as Ohio State’s Thayer Munford during the 2020 season.
Pro Football Focus (PFF) recently released an impressive statistic about the Buckeyes offensive tackle. Munford played 512 snaps during the 2020 season and did not commit a single penalty. That’s pretty difficult to do, even in a shortened, eight-game season.

Those are some numbers Ryan Day has to love.
Earlier in the offseason, PFF made a strong statement by saying that Ohio State’s Nicholas Petit-Frere and Munford are the best offensive tackle combination in all of college football heading into the 2021 season. That should make life a lot easier for the team’s new quarterback, who has to replace Justin Fields.
With so much talent returning again, Ohio State is a favorite to win the B1G for a fifth-straight year. However, college football guru Phil Steele has the Buckeyes on the outside looking in when it comes to the Playoff. Steele has OSU ranked No. 5 in his preseason poll.
