Some tragic news to report out of Alabama.

During Nick Saban’s Monday press conference, he announced that former Illinois assistant, Maryland interim head coach and current Alabama assistant Mike Locksley’s son had been tragically killed.

“On another note Mike Locksley had a family tragedy. His son was killed,” Saban said. “I just want everybody to understand that our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike, Kia and the entire Locksley family over this tragedy. We’ll do everything we can to support Mike and his family in this time of tragedy.”

Saban did not give any other details on the matter.

Alabama hired Locksley in January as a full-time offensive assistant coach. He served the 2016 season as an offensive analyst.
