Sour note: Referees take to stands to scold band during CFB game

Referees officiating the game between UNLV and Air Force pulled off the ultimate ‘no fun’ move Saturday night. The Runnin Rebel band was playing while Air Force had the ball and the zebras took to the stands to scold them for it.
Sidebar: Air Force was up 4 touchdowns with just a quarter to play.
The ref just went into the crowd and told the UNLV band to stop playing whilst Air Force has the ball (I think at least) 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/9xA9FAbXgV

That’s a new one, and an odd one at that. The band is rarely a problem like this, especially considering the crowd was likely already starting to get a little thin given the score.
Maybe there was a malfunction with the ref’s microphone. That seems like the more efficient way to go about this process.
