A day before Michigan State is set to open the 2019 season, the Spartans received an addition to their 2020 class.
On Thursday, MSU received a commitment from three-star weak-side defensive end Simeon Barrow Jr., a native of Grovetown, Georgia. Chad Simmons of Rivals was many to tweet out the news.

Barrow is rated as one of the top 100 players in Georgia — a state filled with football talent. He’s also ranked as the No. 37 weak-side defensive end in the 2020 class.
According to 247Sports, Barrow received interest from a dozen other programs, aside from Michigan State. He also held offers from Tennessee, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Missouri and Virginia Tech.

Barrow is listed as a 6-foot-2, 252-pound defensive end. Last season, he posted ridiculous numbers, tallying 80 tackles, 31 of which were for a loss. He also registered a whopping 15 sacks, and had one forced fumble and an interception.
Mark Dantonio is known for having an eye for defensive talent, and Barrow seems to fit that category.
With the addition of Barrow, Michigan State is now up to 14 verbal commits in the 2020 class. The Spartans rank 10th in the B1G and 47th nationally in the recruiting rankings.
