Going into the season, the Michigan Wolverines did not know who would start at quarterback for them against Florida. They still cannot fully decide who will be their starter for the rest of year going into Week 2 of the season, preparing for the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Against the Gators, both Wilton Speight and John O’Korn saw time at quarterback. Speight struggled early, throwing two interceptions for touchdowns, which led to O’Korn seeing some action. However, Michigan went back to Speight and it went onto defeat Florida, 33-17.
Going into the game against Cincinnati, coach Jim Harbaugh announced that Speight will get the start but O’Korn will have a chance to show the coaching staff what he has to offer.
Harbaugh said Speight is the starting quarterback, but O’Korn will have a chance again to show his stuff.

Speight went 11-of-25 for 182 yards, a touchdown and two picks, while O’Korn completed his lone pass for 37 yards against Florida.
Keep an eye on this storyline because this quarterback battle could go long into the season for the Wolverines.
