Sporting News preseason All-America teams: Multiple B1G stars crack 2023 roster

Sporting News released its 2023 preseason All-America teams Tuesday morning just under a week away from the start of the college football season.

Multiple B1G stars from 6 different programs cracked SN’s list. In total, 15 players out of the B1G cracked the 1st or 2nd teams. Ohio State led the way with 5, Penn State with 4, Michigan with 2 and Iowa with 2. Minnesota and Illinois both placed 1 player on the list.

Here’s a look at each B1G inclusion on the lists:

First team offense

• Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State WR
• Olu Fashanu, Penn State OT

First team defense

• Jer’Zahn Newton, Illinois DL
• J.T. Tuimoloau, Ohio State DL
• Tommy Eichenberg, Ohio State LB
• Kalen King, Penn State DB

First team specialists

• Tory Taylor, Iowa P

Second team offense

• Nick Singleton, Penn State RB
• Donovan Jackson, Ohio State G
• Zak Zinter, Michigan G

Second team defense

• Chop Robinson, Penn State DL
• Cooper DeJean, Iowa DB
• Tyler Nubin, Minnesota DB
