Sports Illustrated just released their top 25 “most intriguing head coaches” for the 2021 season and the B1G is well represented.
Jim Harbaugh is in the top five of the list which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Michigan comes into this season with a lot of questions as the fanbase has grown tired of Harbaugh not winning the big games enough times.
Scott Frost isn’t in the top 5 but he is in the top 10 and comes in at No. 7. Nebraska has been in a lot of hot water on Wednesday due to breaking NCAA violations but this is also a team that needs to take a major leap next season. The Cornhuskers finished just 3-5 last season and that comes after being just 5-7 the year before (Frost’s first season as coach).
The other coaches that made the list are Bret Bielema (No. 20), Tom Allen (No. 21), and Ryan Day (No. 24).
Bielema will be in his first season as Illinois head coach after taking the job during the offseason and he has a tough job ahead of him as this program has been in a rut. As for Allen and Day, it’s all about their programs continuing to be excellent.
