There’s no doubt that when you’re tuning into watch a Penn State game, you’re going to be incredibly entertained. The offense is explosive, the defense is tenacious and the football is fun to watch.
But are the Nittany Lions the most entertaining team in college football? Sports Illustrated believes so.
On Wednesday, Chris Johnson gave Penn State the top ranking in college football as the most entertaining team in the nation, beating out teams like Oklahoma State, Louisville and Texas A&M.
Johnson provided some reasoning for placing James Franklin and Co. at the top of the list:
When it’s really rolling, Penn State is transfixing in the way it efficiently makes its way down the field while spreading the ball around to a group of electric playmakers. Sometimes Penn State’s entire offensive operation takes a backseat to one of those playmakers, junior running back Saquon Barkley, whose blend of power, speed and lateral quickness is unmatched across the Football Bowl Subdivision. Barkley can run over defenders, juke would-be tacklers to the turf or, if neither of those options makes sense at the time, hop right over them and pick up a few more yards.
Penn State was the only team to make the list, which ranked the top 10 most entertaining teams in the country.
