Standout Purdue wide receiver Deion Burks announced Tuesday that he intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal after starting all 12 games this season for the Boilermakers.

Burks was Purdue’s best receiver this season by a wide margin. He totaled 47 receptions for 629 yards and 7 touchdowns. The Boilers’ next-leading receiver had 381 yards with 2 touchdowns.

Burks has been at Purdue for 3 seasons but will retain 2 years of eligibility after taking a redshirt year in 2021. As a freshman, Burks totaled 15 receptions for 149 yards, also seeing time on special teams.

Here’s Burks’ announcement from X:

Obviously, Burks is likely to be a major target for top programs in the country out of the portal. His jump from his redshirt freshman season to this past season is impressive, and he could go even higher in an offense that can further maximize his skillsets.

Burks is originally from Belleville, Michigan.
