Nick Niemann is likely returning next season for Iowa, the senior linebacker taking advantage of the eligibility rules in place for this season to likely be back in the black and gold in 2021.
It has been a solid season for Niemann, a starting outside linebacker who despite playing only seven games has a career-high 69 tackles. With COVID-19 impacting the college season, players are being granted another year of eligibility.

A player like Niemann can benefit from a fifth season playing for Iowa, allowing him to enhance his NFL Draft stock even further. It is a smart move for the Iowa standout if he goes through with it.
Three weeks ago, Niemann put up a monster performance with 17 tackles including one tackle for a loss in beating Penn State.
A three-star recruit out of Sycamore, IL, Niemann also held offers from Iowa State, Illinois and Northwestern along with a host of MAC programs and FCS school.
In his four years at Iowa spanning 44 games, Niemann has 149 tackles and an interception.
