Stephen A. Smith is getting ready to see women’s college basketball returns. He’s also not shy about the player he’s most looking forward to watching this season.

In a segment on “First Take,” Smith unapologetically admitted he is most looking forward to seeing Clark play another season. He spoke to her abilities as a “sniper” from long range and compared Iowa’s superstar to NBA sharpshooter Steph Curry.

“To me, it’s Caitlin Clark. That’s just how I feel about it, me personally,” said Smith about the player he can’t wait to see this season. “And don’t get me wrong, I like (UConn star) Paige Bueckers… But I think about Caitlin Clark, and it’s a shame she didn’t have the team to compete with LSU. LSU was something special… but in the end, I’m just a Caitlin Clark fan. I think she is the Steph Curry of women’s college basketball. She is a spectacular sniper, make no mistake about it.”

After a strong start to her career, Clark elevated her game with a record-breaking performance a season ago as the Hawkeyes advanced to the national championship. Now, Clark returns to try and get Iowa over the hump with a national title in the 2023-24 season.
