Stephen A. Smith’s massive ESPN annual salary revealed

ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith is reportedly making a large chunk of change, even more so than originally thought. According to recent reports by The Athletic and New York Post, Smith makes $12 million annually in terms of compensation.
Smith’s salary has been brought up in the news recently in connection to ESPN co-worker Maria Taylor. A New York Post report revealed Taylor was offered a contract of around $5 million annually in 2020 but turned it down. That same report indicated Taylor was seeking “Stephen A. Smith money” with Smith’s salary reported to be $8 million at that time.
The latest report from Andrew Marchand with The Post reported Smith’s “personal salary” is $8 million but that Smith also earns $4 million annually as part of a “production contract.” That brings his full compensation to $12 million.
According to Stewart Mandel with The Athletic, these types of figures illustrate that an elite-level football coach could still technically be a discount. Mandel used the example of Nick Saban who makes $9 million annually coaching at Alabama.
Yet another reminder that Nick Saban ($9M) is in fact grossly underpaid. https://t.co/UXLCWEZs8G
