Stetson Bennett finished as a Heisman finalist while guiding Georgia’s offense in 2022. Gearing up for the College Football Playoff, Bennett recognizes the talent that exists on Ohio State’s defense.

In his comments to the media Wednesday, Bennett commented on the ability of Jim Knowles’ unit to create havoc. Some of that comes from Ohio State sending defenders from all over the formation to apply pressure.

In the end, Bennett knows the final outcome still comes down to which team executes better in the Peach Bowl.

“First of all, they have really good players and they execute their system. They try to cause havoc,” explained Bennett. “They can come from a lot of different places. They do their assignment, and in order for us to be successful, we have to do ours. And that’s trusting Sed, whenever he’s making the calls and talking to him. But at the end of the day, they’ve got a really good football team. We’ve got a really good football team, and it’s going to come down to who executes better on Saturday.”

Ohio State’s defense turned in a solid effort this season, finishing 13th nationally while allowing 19.2 points per game. However, the Buckeyes will need to be on top of their game to slow down Georgia’s balanced attack in the Peach Bowl.

We’ll see if Jim Knowles’ unit can rattle Bennett and create some mistakes from the QB on Saturday.
