Michigan State’s starters will remain unknown until kickoff.
Before Friday night’s season opener between Michigan State and Northwestern, Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press tweeted out an image of the depth charts from both teams. The problem? Only one team provided it.
The Spartans have decided not to release a weekly depth chart this season, keeping everything secretive. It’s been a strategy adopted by multiple teams in the B1G this year.

Mel Tucker has remained pretty secretive about his rotation through fall camp and it will be that way right until kickoff. It’s still unclear who will be Michigan State’s starting quarterback Friday night.
Last year, the Spartans handed Northwestern its only loss of the college football regular season. The Wildcats are looking for revenge on their home turf.
